Composition
The Committee for European Affairs is composed of:
- Chairperson of the Committee that is the minister in charge of the membership of the Republic of Poland in the European Union - Mr. Radosław Sikorski represented by the secretary of state for European affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mikołaj Dowgielewicz;
- Members of the KSE:
- members of the Council of Ministers who may be represented by a secretary of state or an undersecretary of state,
- Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister or a secretary of state or an undersecretary of state at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister appointed by the Head of the Chancellery.
In a situation where a meeting is attended by the Prime Minister, it is the Prime Minister who chairs the meeting. Representatives of other institutions, for example of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland or of the National Bank of Poland, may also be invited to participate in the meetings.
Meetings of the Committee are held when at least half of its members are present, and decisions are made through reconciliation. If no such reconciliation can be brought about, the Chairperson of the Committee, in consultation with the member of the Committee in charge of the subject of the matter, prepares a report on discrepancies, which is then submitted to the Council of Ministers for consideration.
The Committee is supported by the office supporting the minister in charge of the membership of the Republic of Poland in the EU, namely the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
